Planning ahead where forest meets suburbs in an era of climate change.
Join us for an interactive Fire Resilience Workshop at the Glenayre Community Centre! This is a starting point for learning and asking questions about what it means to live at the interface of forest and suburbs in era of increased wildfire risk due to a rapidly changing climate. This event will feature (1) wildfire coexistence expert Dr. Lori Daniels of the University of British Columbia (2) an opportunity to discuss and ask questions of fire experts from FireSmart BC.
This is an opportunity to better understand the history and ecology of wildfires in our region, and learn how we might better prepare for the future. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your fire safety knowledge and emergency preparedness.
A light lunch will be provided for those who have registered in advance.
This event is brought to you by the Glenayre Community Association and sponsored by a Community Grant from the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions.
