False Creek Community Placemaking Festival

March 7 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
False Creek, Outside Science World

Join us for a day of community connection, sustainability, and climate action at the False Creek Community Placemaking Festival! Hosted by the UBC Sustainability Ambassadors in celebration of SDG Month, this event brings together local organizations, advocates, and community leaders working toward a more resilient, equitable, and climate-conscious False Creek. Placemaking is about more than just physical space. It’s about relationships: to the land, to water, to food systems, to mobility, and to each other. Through interactive booths, community dialogue, and hands-on activities, people of all ages can explore how sustainability and climate justice contribute to vibrant, inclusive spaces in our city.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Interactive booths highlighting climate action, food systems, transportation, and environmental justice
  • Opportunities to learn about local initiatives shaping False Creek
  • Conversations about how we move through, care for, and belong in our city
  • Practical ways to get involved locally

Whether you live nearby, pass through often, or are visiting for the day, this event invites you to reflect on your connection to False Creek and imagine the future together.
